Jessica Alvarado Gamez (she/her/hers) is an award-winning visual storyteller and investigative journalist from San Jose, California, specializing in video and photography.
She holds a master’s in Investigative Journalism from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University and was a reporter for the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism. Before joining the Howard Center, she reported on police reform for the Carnegie-Knight News21 Program as a visual reporter, where she specialized in documentary production.
Jessica holds a sUAS Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification and has experience in corporate marketing, where she developed skills in motion graphics, managing marketing campaigns, promotional materials, and advertisements.
Her work has been featured in the Associated Press, Univision Arizona, Arizona PBS, the City of Phoenix PHXTV, and more.
Jessica enjoys watching horror movies, traveling, and drinking coffee when she is not working behind the camera.
